Wacky Pest Wednesday: Moths

 In News

Happy Wednesday, Tri-County Pest Control fans, and welcome to our latest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday!  This week, we’re covering another common summer pest: moths.

Moths are known to be a little bit of a nuisance in the summer, as they will be swarming around your porch lights or campfire.  Outside, they present no pressing danger to you or your family, but inside is where they can cause some issues.  Not only will they be flying around all of the lights in your home, but they will help themselves to any open food left out, or a quick snack in your closet.

Other than the damage they can cause to your clothes, moths are essentially harmless.  They serve as food for several types of animals, including arachnids and insects, so if you see a moth flying around your home, expect to see an increased presence of the two aforementioned critters.

Moth defense is probably the simplest type of pest defense there is: shut your doors and windows.  With no entry point, the moths will stay outside, leaving you and your family alone.  Of course, should things become out of hand and you find yourself facing a Biblical-esque storm of moths around your kitchen light, give us a call as soon as you can.  We’ll get them out in no time.

Enjoy the rest of your week, Tri-County Pest Control fans!
