Homemade Pest Repellants

All you need to do is to fill a spray bottle halfway with vinegar (any kind of your choosing), add about 15 drops of any essential oils, and top off with water. While you can choose any essential oil out there, we highly recommend peppermint, as it smells wonderful and is super effective against ants. The smell can block their sensory organs, which they use to hunt for food in the kitchen.
Looking for an all-natural pest repellent but can’t stand the smell of vinegar? Try the soothing scents of citrus instead! Mix together water and unsweetened lemon or lime juice into a spray bottle, and shake well. You can spray this mixture everywhere to act as both a deodorizer and as a pest repellent, especially with spiders. So long as you wipe down your countertops, doorways, and windowsills with this mixture fairly regular, you can keep the spiders at bay.
Finally, if you’re looking to have a good night out or keep pests away, vodka could be your best friend. Fill a spray bottle with vodka and add about 20 drops of essential oils to create an all-natural pest repellent that will keep pests out, and will kill pests on contact, all without the use of nasty chemicals.
