Wacky Pest Wednesday: Beetles

 In News

Happy Wednesday to you, Tri-County Pest Control fans!  We have another edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday ready for you, and today we invite you to join us as we cover the beetle!

Beetles are very common insects, and scientists have identified 25,000 different types in the United States alone!  Despite that large figure, these critters are typically beneficial pests, as they will feed on other insects that we consider to be rampant pests.

They are commonly confused with cockroaches, which results in them being squashed with a shoe more often than they should be.  When trying to determine if it is a beetle or a cockroach, take a close look at its wings—a beetle will have shell-like front wings, complete with antennae to match.  Should you pick up on these signs, simply grab a piece of paper, allow the beetle to crawl on it, and set it outside.  Hopefully, the beetle will stick around, and be able to act as a defender of your home—gobbling up other pests that wish to do you harm.

Now, there are times where beetles can become a nuisance, like if there are too many in your home to count.  When times like those arise, know that you can call on Tri-County Pest Control for swift and humane removal.  One call to us is all you need to take care of any pest problem you may have, and ensure that they won’t be back anytime soon.
