Wacky Pest Wednesday: Japanese Beetle
A very happy Wednesday to you, Tri-County Pest Control fans! We’re here to continue our Wacky Pest Wednesday tradition, and today we are covering the Japanese beetle. Enjoy!
Japanese beetles, along with dragonflies, wasps, and bees are another common spring and summer pest that you’ll see. If you have a pool, we almost guarantee that you have seen these scabbard-like critters float around at some point or another, and they are an absolute pain if they latch onto your hair while swimming. Overall, they can be quite the nuisance over the coming months
Yet never fear, as there are a few things you can do on your own to take care of them. For example, since these critters will eat just about anything that is green and leafy, you can take the steps to cut back the vegetation and unwanted weeds that may pop up in your backyard. This will diminish their food source and make them less likely to bother you, but we have to warn you that this is not a foolproof method. If you are an avid gardener, Japanese beetles can make short work of your vegetation, so acquiring a row cover to protect your plants may be a solution.
While there are plenty of DIY methods out there to deal with these pests, none of them are quite as effective as calling in the professionals. Feel free to give us a call today if you’re having pest problems or if you are simply looking for a quote on pest defensive plans!
Enjoy your Wednesday!
