Wacky Pest Wednesday: Annoying Ants

 In News

Hey there Tri-County Pest Control fans, happy Wednesday to you! We’re back with another edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday, and today, we’re covering a pest that may come out with the impending holidays: the ant.
Ants are some of the hardest working pests out there, marching distances far and wide in order to gather food for their colony. These guys operate by sense of smell, and with their keen nose, they can detect a whole lot of food scraps that may be left out in the open in your kitchen.
With this being said, the best way to defend against an ant infestation is to make sure that you keep up on regular cleaning in your kitchen, and that you keep any and all leftover foods in airtight containers.
Now, if you do see some ants crawling around, no need to fret, as a simple solution can make them turn away. Grab some peppermint essential oil, and sprinkle some around your kitchen, especially where the ants seem to originate from. Since ants operate by smell, laying down this oil will confuse their senses, making them less apt to come out into the kitchen.
Of course, if you have an ant infestation that just isn’t going away, or you want to make sure that your home is free of these pests before the holidays, you know exactly who to call.
Have a great Wednesday, Tri-County Pest Control fans!
