Wacky Pest Wednesday: House crickets

 In News

Hey there all of you Tri-County Pest Control fans and welcome to our new weekly segment – Wacky Pest Wednesday – where we will share with you all some wild facts we have come across from the pest world we have been entrenched in for more than three decades.

Today’s Wacky Wednesday Pest Fact focuses on the house cricket. Enjoy!

Crickets, as we known them, are more of a night party animal and tend to chill out during the daytime in dark and warm places. If you’re not able to see them, you’ll most likely recognize their loud chirping. This caused when the cricket rubs its front wings together as a mating ritual to attract females.

However, something strange but true is that Brazilians believe when a cricket “sings” that it is a sign of rain to come. Additionally, some Asians believe crickets are good luck and keep them caged as pets.
