Wacky Pest Wednesday: Termites

 In News

Hey all you Tri-County Pest Control fans, and welcome to our latest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday.  We invite you to join us today, as we go over a particularly destructive pest: the termites.

Termites are without a doubt a pest that can pop up in a homeowner’s nightmares, as they can cause some serious damage in only small numbers.  This damage can not only affect the value of your home, but also the safety of it, as foundations with termites are much more likely to collapse.  With all of this going for them, it is no wonder as to why termite prevention is a hot topic in homeowner maintenance.

However, these pests do not have to wait until the warmer months to get inside of your home.  Thanks to their cleverness, termites can form burrows underground leading to the side of your home, or use any wood or brush near your exterior as a staging area for a larger invasion into your home, regardless of the temperature.  With this being said, it is imperative that you remove any brush or wood from the side of your home to prevent termites from getting close, and do a quick check for any cracks on the siding to prevent them from getting in.  A combination of both of these things—and regular monitoring—should be enough to keep your home termite free.

Now, there are those times when even with your best efforts, termites still get in.  When those times arise, know that one call to us is all you need to get them out, and keep your home termite free.  When you choose Tri-County Pest Control, you are choosing a solution that works.
