Wacky Pest Wednesday: Opossums

 In News

Happy Wednesday to all you Tri-County Pest Control fans out there, and welcome to our latest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday!  Today, we invite you to join us, as we cover a rather crafty critter: the opossum.

At a first glance, you may find the opossum cute and cuddly, but these guys are anything but that.  Making their favorite meal out of whatever you last threw in the trash, they will raid everything short of the support beams of your home for food.  Consequently, once they get in, any and all bacteria, microorganisms, and diseases that they have carried with them will infest your house.  Thus, if you see an opossum in your house, you should make the act of removing them your top priority.

Since opossums are delicate and crafty critters, it is recommended that you do not try to take care of them by yourself.  Impromptu pest-control techniques can hurt you, your family, and the opossum itself, which is why we encourage you to seek help.  If you find one lurking in your home, know that one quick call to us is all you need to get them out, and keep them out for good.

Did you know that the opossum is more closely related to a kangaroo than to a rodent?  By biological definitions the opossum is a marsupial, making this pest truly one of a kind.

Enjoy your Wednesday!
