A happy Wednesday to all you Tri-County Pest Control fans out there, and welcome to our latest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday!  Today, we invite you to join us as we cover a pest with a knack for camouflage: the leaf insect.  Enjoy!

Leaf insects, as the name implies, are critters that resemble a leaf to great detail.  Often, you’ll find these guys on the side of your house or in your garden, and will have to do a double-take to make sure that it isn’t just another leaf.  By no means are they harmful to you, as they are strict herbivores.

The name “leaf insect” encompasses many bugs that look like leaves, and some definitely come in weird shapes.  Regardless, they are just some cool bugs…a sign that not all bugs out there are bad.

Did you know that there are records of leaf bugs existing for the last 47 million years?  These critters definitely know how to survive, and we can say that they have the whole camouflage thing down pat.

Be sure to check back next Wednesday for our latest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday!
