Wacky Pest Wednesday: Fleas

 In News

A very happy Wednesday to all you Tri-County Pest Control fans out there!  We’re here to share with you another edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday, and today we are covering the flea.  Enjoy!

The bane of every pet owner’s existence, the flea can cause some serious issues for both your furry friend and your household if left untreated.  Thanks to their small size, they love to hide in your carpet and furniture to wait for their next meal to come by, whether it be the blood of a dog, cat, or in some cases, a human.  Like other pests, fleas reproduce at a record rate, meaning that a simple problem can spiral out of control quickly if left untreated.

So, how do you take care of a flea problem before it gets out of hand?  Well, the first thing we would suggest is to find some sort of treatment for your pet, as this will reduce the flea’s food supply.  Then, break out that vacuum, and give your carpets and furniture a deep clean, since they love to hide their eggs in the fibers of the carpet.  If you still spot adult fleas hopping around afterwards, then perhaps it may be time to call in the big guns, and get them out for good.

Like with many other pests, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  Brushing your pet and giving them an anti-flea medication are just a few small things you can do to prevent an infestation from occurring in the first place.

Infestation or not, always know that Tri-County Pest Control is here to help.  Whether it be for a comprehensive pest defense plan or a quick and swift removal, we are you resource for anything pest related.  Give us a call today to see what we can do for you.

Enjoy your Wednesday!
