Wacky Pest Wednesday: Centipedes

 In News

Happy Wednesday to all you Tri-County Pest Control fans out there, and welcome to our latest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday!  Join us today, as we cover a critter with one too many legs: the centipede.

Ah the centipede: one of the creepiest of crawlies out there.  Long, slender bodies, with a pair of legs for each segment, they can give you a little startle at first when you first see one in your home.  While they will prey on other pests like cockroaches and spiders, the centipede is considered dangerous because of its venom, which it inflicts with every bite.  They don’t actively seek out humans, but if you are unlucky enough to rustle a box in the basement that they were hiding under, you may be on the receiving end of a bite.

One tricky thing about the centipede is that they do not leave signs of infestation other than their presence,  So, even if you don’t see them, you may have one of these creepy critters lurking somewhere in your home.

That is why it pays to keep up on household maintenance and cleaning, because a cluttered and neglected household is a pest’s dream.

Should you come across a centipede in your home, do yourself a favor and give us a call.  Our expertise is all you need to make sure that your home stays pest-free.

Enjoy your Wednesday!
