Information

The term "beetle" refers to members of the order of insects Coleoptera. This order of insects contains more species than any other order in the animal kingdom. In fact, beetles make up approximate ¼ of all known life-forms! Some beetles can be pests or nuisances, such as the Powderpost Beetle or Saw-toothed Grain Beetle. However, other beetles are predators of more invasive or damaging pests, meaning that they are beneficial to have in your lawn and garden.

Prevention

There are some preventative measure you can take in order to reduce the chance of beetles finding their way into your home.

Seal cracks and crevices around your home.

Fix or replace damages screens, door gaskets, or other deficiencies that might allow pests access to your home.

Take measures to reduce the presence of other insects in and directly around your home. Many species of beetles feed on other insects.

Control

Since there are so many different species of beetle, one of the most important steps in beetle control is identification. With entomologists on call, as well as highly trained and experienced technicians, we will identify the species causing your problem and determine the best course of treatment specifically for you.
